We are seeking a Junior Tax Preparer to join our team. This position offers a base pay plus commission structure and provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in tax preparation and planning.
The candidate will be responsible for reviewing financial documents, researching tax laws, collaborating with team members, interviewing clients, preparing and filing individual and self-employed tax returns, and ensuring preparedness for major tax deadlines.

Responsibilities:
- Review various financial documents to prepare accurate tax returns and provide tax services.
- Research tax laws, deductions, and liabilities to ensure compliance and optimize tax benefits.
- Collaborate with team members to develop long-term tax plans and strategies for clients.
- Interview clients to gather necessary information and address their tax needs effectively.
- Prepare and file individual and self-employed tax returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and prepare in advance for major tax deadlines.
- Research tax laws, deductions, and liabilities to ensure compliance and optimize tax benefits.
- Collaborate with team members to develop long-term tax plans and strategies for clients.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
- 2 years of experience in public accounting and/or tax planning and preparation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work with clients onsite or remotely.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant software, including Drake Software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft 365.
**Preferred Skills and Qualifications:**
- College undergraduate degree in accounting or a related field. CPA or EA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in individual income tax preparation.
- Valid PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
- Experience with Drake Software, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks.
- Ability to establish rapport, present information, and effectively respond to clients' and coworkers' questions.
- 2 years of experience in public accounting and/or tax planning and preparation.

**Compensation and Benefits:**
- Base pay (TBD) plus commission ranging from 10% to 15% based on experience.
- Part-time, temporary, and seasonal employment opportunities available.
